A collar that is too loose slips over the head. One that is too tight rubs. Two minutes with a soft tape measure saves both. Here is how we do it.
What you need
- A soft tape measure, the kind used for sewing. No tape? Use a piece of string, then lay it on a ruler.
- A treat, so your dog stands still.
- Your dog standing up, not sitting or lying down.
Neck: for every collar
- Put the tape around the neck where the collar sits: in the middle of the neck, a little above the shoulders.
- Slide two fingers flat under the tape. This is the room your dog needs to breathe, swallow and turn its head.
- Read the number. This is the neck size.
Pick the size where your number sits in the range. If it is right between two sizes, take the bigger one; every collar adjusts down.
Chest and belly: for Harness QUICK
- Chest: put the tape around the widest part of the rib cage, just behind the front legs. Two fingers under the tape.
- Belly: measure again a hand's width further back, where the second strap sits.
- Both numbers should fit the same size. If they don't, the chest decides.

Puppies
Puppies grow fast. Measure every few weeks, and pick a size where the puppy sits near the bottom of the range, so the collar can grow with it.
Leash length
A leash has no size, only a length. Leash FLEX comes in four:
- SHORT 70 cm: city walks, close to you
- NEARBY 120 cm: everyday walks (also Leash BASIC)
- EXPLORE 180 cm: more freedom
- LONG 250 cm: training and open spaces
Check the fit
- Two fingers fit flat under the collar or the harness straps.
- The collar does not slip over the ears when you pull it gently forward.
- The harness does not rub behind the front legs after a walk.
